Inauguration function at India International University of Legal Education and Research, Goa

Ramaiah College of Law, Bangalore was invited by the Bar Council of India Trust to attend the inauguration function of the first Academic Session 2022-2023 of India International University of Legal Education and Research, Goa and the technical session on the subject “Future of Legal Education and the Scope of Globalisation of Legal Education” by renowned legal luminaries. The event was held on December 3, 2022.

Eight final-year students, namely, Rajendra Rushi, Raksha Rajesh, Supraja Sridharan, Monisha Sen, Niyathi Hegde, Pushkala Srinivasan, and Kusuma Sudhakar attended the event. They were accompanied by Sharu Anna John, Assistant Professor. The faculties in-charge of the same were Ms. Sangeetha Murali S. and Ms.Sharu Anna John.

In the event, the future of legal education was discussed as being of great importance not only for the existing law students but also for those serving on the bar and the bench.

The event saw the gracious presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice D.Y.Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India. His Lordship was quoted saying, "I think and thus I am", which was of great inspiration to students on their journey to self-realisation. His Lordship also stressed on the need to engage oneself in extracurricular activities for a holistic development.

The students also had the prized opportunity to meet with various leading lawyers of the Supreme Court, senior partners of renowned corporate law firms and Vice-Chancellors of different National Law Schools.
